The COVA and AVAS will effectively facilitate the visa application, and an increasing number of applicants are taking this new application method. However, we noticed that some applicants were still unaware of the available online visa application. The Embassy wishes to inform once again that:<\/p>\n<p>From now on, all the applicants applying for a visa for China (Mainland Only) in Sierra Leone are required to complete the online application form and make online appointment. THE HANDWRITTEN APPLICATION FORM WILL NO LONGER BE PROVIDED, NOR WILL IT BE ACCEPTED.<\/p>\n<p>To access the guide to online visa application, please go to: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fmprc.gov.cn\/ce\/cesl\/eng\/ywzn\/lsyw\/qz\/t1090078.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/www.fmprc.gov.cn\/ce\/cesl\/eng\/ywzn\/lsyw\/qz\/t1090078.htm<\/a> or the visa service page of the official website of the Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fmprc.gov.cn\/ce\/cesl\/eng\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.fmprc.gov.cn\/ce\/cesl\/eng<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Also, based on the online application forms we have received, some applicants tend to write their middle name or maiden name in the \u201cOther names\u201d column. For this, we suggest that applicants ignore the \u201cOther names\u201d and \u201cMiddle name\u201d columns, and fill the \u201cFamily name\u201d and \u201cGiven Name\u201d columns with exactly the same names on the passport.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants are advised to fill in online application form and make online appointment 7 days in advance.
