PC Alie Balasama Marah, Dr. Kaifala Marah and wife Mrs. Josephine Marah)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Likes of the Finance Minister, Dr. Kaifala Marah, Chairman of National Telecommunication Commission Momoh Konte, are currently working with senior Koinaduguans like Dr. Fasineh Samura and Alhaji Batoma Sheriff to ensure that the District serves as a bread basket for the country\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The construction of the main road from Kabala Town to Yiraya Village has served as a catalyst for great change to occur in the Koinadugu District. The road, which used to be a death-trap and takes passengers two or three days to travel is now serving as a glorious opportunity for motorists and pedestrians.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Most individuals interviewed expressed and said nice sentiments about the good works of Dr. Kaifala Marah, whom they referred to as their liberator from bondage to economic glory.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ibrahim Bunduka Kamara a business man in Sengbe Chiefdom said there has been a cut-off point between the people of the surrounding villages to the main Kabala Town as well as other Chiefdoms. Kamara is extremely happy because the new road will help them take part in nation activities like the forth coming census.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During elections, he said the bad roads in the past could not allow them to take part. \u201cWe were totally isolated. Those coming to register people for elections normally stops at Kabala Town and would not attempt reaching us,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sundu Jawara, a petty trader said some women have lost their babies during child birth because they cannot access quality health services due to bad roads. With the new road, she said they have been given the opportunity to travel to areas like Kabala Town or the Free Healthcare service.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cSome women have lost their lives on the road during pregnancy labour. The bad roads by then, high transportation cost and spending few days on the bad roads led to unhealthy condition for mostly women and children,\u201d she said, and added that she is extremely happy to see that Dr. Marah has restored their happiness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Honourable Paramount Chief Alie Balasama Marah of Sengbe Chiefdom, whose Chiefdom has benefited a lot from the road work, said it takes a man to embark on such a project that will take development to Koinadugu District. The road, he said will enable farmers to take their good to the market. \u201cWe are happy that our own brother took up an venture that would have cost government a lot. We can now use our cars to access other chiefdoms and communities,\u201d he said, and added that it has further ease access to touristic areas like the Loma Mountain and will contribute to the improvement to basic social and economic services.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI did it for God, my country and to set out what President Koroma has taken up as a venture across the country,\u201d says Dr. Marah during an inspection tour over the weekend. Accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Josephine Marah, the Prominent son of the soil together with his entourage were received with drumming and dancing by the people, who saw him as a competent servant of President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma that his following his footsteps to redeem his people from economic hardship.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cTo him much is given much is expected. It is good that I use my personal resources to open up communities,\u201d he said. Dr. Marah commended friends and other well-wishers that have been supporting the project with fuel to do the technical work.
