2014<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"left\"><b>In August 2014 the Ministry of Trade and Industry will be launching a Local Content Unit, the objective of which is to promote the wider usage of local content by:<br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Enhancing the Government of Sierra Leone\u2019s Local Content Policy;<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring a better understanding of the nature and benefits of local content; and<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring local content usage to identify opportunities and constraints.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The positions being recruited for include:<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"head-of-the-local-content-unit\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Head of the Local Content Unit, 10+ years\u2019 experience<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Oversee the development and implementation of the Local Content Policy (LCP).<\/li>\n<li>Manage the staff and operations of the Local Content Unit (LCU).<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the work of the LCU with Development Partners, Government MDAs and civil society, liaising with public and private enterprises to ensure close collaboration on local content.<b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Qualifications and experience:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>A postgraduate degree in economics, social sciences, business administration or law is required.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in policy development, setting objectives and delivering a strategy for an organisation engaged in policy, monitoring and outreach for government, trade and industry, or civil society and non-government organisations.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in coordination and liaison across government and private sector entities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"local-content-policy-adviser-5\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Local Content Policy Adviser, 5+ years\u2019 experience<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Investigate and assess Local Content Policy (LCP) issues in Sierra Leone.<\/li>\n<li>Investigate and advise on LCP issues in relevant countries, particularly in West Africa.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Qualifications and experience:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>An undergraduate degree in economics, social sciences, business administration or law is required.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in policy development for government, trade and industry, or civil society, analysing and advising on legal and business procedures.<b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"local-content-outreach-officer\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Local Content Outreach Officer, 5+ years\u2019 experience<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Support the Head of LCU in drafting and implementing an outreach strategy for the Local Content Policy (LCP).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Qualifications and experience:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>An undergraduate degree in economics, social sciences, business administration or communications is required.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in setting and delivering a communications strategy for an organisation in government, trade and industry, or civil society.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"local-content-monitoring-offic\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Local Content Monitoring Officer, 5+ years\u2019 experience<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Design, implement and provide ongoing analysis using a local content monitoring system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Qualifications and experience:<br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>An undergraduate degree in economics, statistics, or other fields related to monitoring is required.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in the design and implementation of a monitoring and evaluation (M&amp;E) system, the analysis and presentation of monitoring results.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"procurement-and-supplier-devel\" ><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Procurement and Supplier Development Officer, 8+ years\u2019 experience<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Investigate procurement practices, identify constraints and opportunities for the promotion of local content and draft corresponding strategy.<\/li>\n<li>Establish liaison networks with key market actors and representatives of SMEs and investors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Qualifications and experience:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>An undergraduate degree in economics, social sciences, business administration or law is required.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in public or private sector procurement.<\/li>\n<li>Experience of working with SMEs and establishing appropriate markets.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in building networks and liaison with private sector entities, including with SMEs.<b><br \/>\n<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p
