Old Edwardians, FC Johansen Crash out as E.E. Lions, RSLAF FC Scrape through to the Last 8<\/b><\/p>\n

East End Lions and RSLAF FC had to wait until penalty shootouts to book their respective tickets to the quarter finals of the Leocem sponsored FA Cup while Kamboi Eagles, FC Kallon, Freetown City, Bo Rangers, Althababan FC and Edmond Michael Foundation go through on open play.\u00a0 (Photo: RSLAF FC)<\/i><\/p>\n

East end Lions drew goalless with Old Edwardians despite the latter having a man down for most of the second half and managed to win 5-4 on post game penalties to progress to the next stage. Old Edwardians started brilliantly in attack; having two goal scoring opportunities in quick succession but were forced to defend deeply when Tom Bongay was given the marching order for retaliation on Desmond Wellington in the first quarter of the second half.<\/p>\n

RSLAF also drew goalless with first division club, Kholifa Stars and went on to win 4-2 in the penalty shootout. The soldiers were unable to undo the sturdy Kholifa Stars defence despite running riot on several occasions down the flanks.<\/p>\n

Bo Rangers<\/p><\/div>\n

FC Johansen was shocked when Bo Rangers, Dwight Foray capitalize on a defensive blunder in the 60th<\/sup> minute to hammer home the goal that sent the Johansen Boys out of the Leocem FA Cup competition. FC Johansen, which is undoubtedly the youngest team in the premiership were disappointed with the pitch condition as well as reception from the host but had they took advantage of two very good chances in the first quarter of the second half of the match, they might have sailed through to the last eight.<\/p>\n

A very good performance by goalkeeper Unisa Conteh prevented Bo Rangers from increasing the scores. Conteh had to come out four times in the last quarter of the match to deny the host very good scoring opportunities. He flicked Ali Mansaray\u2019s thunder shot in the penalty area over the cross bar and had to fight Ansu Alpha for a loose ball in the six-yard box.<\/p>\n

Though they had a very tough time breaking the Kailahun Boys in Bo City, Edmond Michael Foundation go through after defeating Geoma Jargoh FC 2-0. Geoma Jargoh played very good attacking football but had a very bad day. They struck the woodwork thrice; more shots on target but could not get even a consolation.<\/p>\n

\"Kamboi<\/a>

Kamboi Eagles<\/p><\/div>\n

Kamboi Eagles scraped through in Moyamba with a 2-1 win against Grassfield United, who had several goal scoring opportunities but failed to capitalize on them. Kamboi Eagles late first half goal was canceled out in the 62nd<\/sup> minute but they took the lead again in the 80th<\/sup> minute and went behind the ball until the final whistle.<\/p>\n

FC Kallon humbled the sturdy Division One club, Dallarosa 3-1 in a pulsating encounter at the Football Academy. The Division One giant started well; attacking from all angles but was pegged back when the youthful FC Kallon got the curtain raiser before the break. They came back strongly in the second but received a blow when the visitors increased the scores. Dallarosa, having used to attacking the opponents pushed forward again and were gifted with the consolation in the 75th<\/sup> minute. The team saw the consolation as spring board to get the equalizer but when Kallon FC ran riot in the final ten minutes, Dallorosa bowed to pressure and concede the third.<\/p>\n

Freetown City Council, rising from the ashes; demolished the once hard to crack division one club, Real Mack 1-0 while Al Thababan pushed through with a 2-1 win over Sunday Foundation.<\/p>\n

In the semi finals, the winner between\u00a0FC Kallon and Bo Rangers\u00a0will play the winner of\u00a0East End Lions vs Al Thababhan.\u00a0Freetown City Council or Kambui Eagles will play the winner between\u00a0Edmond Michael Foundation and RSLAF\u00a0FC.<\/p>\n
