His Excellency\u00a0 Alhaji Abubakarr Jalloh, Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the Republic of Libya and also accredited to the Republic of Malta among others, presented his letter of credence to His Excellency Dr. Moncef Marzouki President of the Republic of Tunisia, on Thursday 28th<\/sup>\u00a0 November, 2013.<\/p>\n

During the presentation, His Excellency Alhaji \u00a0Jalloh expressed his honour and gratitude for being the second Sierra Leonean envoy to present letters of credence as Ambassador, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Sierra Leone, to the Republic of Tunisia.<\/p>\n

Ambassador\u00a0 Alhaji Abubakarr Jalloh was accompanied by the Head of Chancery Mr. Momodu Wurie,\u00a0 The occasion was full of pageantry.<\/p>\n

In receiving the letter of credence, His Excellency Dr. Moncef Marzouki \u00a0expressed his deepest thanks and appreciation to His Brother and Colleague His Excellency Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone for accrediting\u00a0 Alhaji Abubakarr Jalloh to Tunisia as non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. He said this will go a long way to \u00a0strengthening the bilateral relation between Tunisia and Sierra Leone.<\/p>\n

In the ensuing discussions,\u00a0 Alhaji Abubakarr Jalloh conveyed heartfelt \u00a0greetings and kind sentiments from His Excellency\u00a0 Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma to his colleague, Dr. Moncef Marzouki. Alhaji Abubakarr Jalloh\u00a0 informed his host that Sierra Leone has achieved political stability under the leadership of President Ernest Bai Koroma, the country is also making meaningful strides towards socio-economic development.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Alhaji Jalloh further informed that President Koroma on his assumption of office he \u00a0promised the people of Sierra Leone that his government will explore all avenues to improve on the energy situation, as he believed that sustainable energy will provide the springboard for economic growth in any country. He further\u00a0 gave a \u00a0brief explanation on the bilateral relations between the two countries including:<\/p>\n

POLITICAL:<\/b><\/b><\/p>\n

Alhaji Abubakarr Jalloh talked about the ongoing political transition in Tunisia, and the leadership role which the Tunisian people have demonstrated both in Africa and the Arab world to promote Democracy. The government and the\u00a0 people of Sierra Leone fully behind the course of the Tunisian people.<\/p>\n

He also talked about regional organizations as in CEN- SAD of which both countries are members with a common determination to combat terrorism, arms proliferation, illegal migration and above all to ensure sustainable development and security in CEN-SAD space.<\/p>\n

With regard to the African Union, \u00a0Ambassador Jalloh highlighted \u00a0the current role His Excellency Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma is \u00a0playing as chairman of the African Union Committee of Ten (C10 )Heads of state, charged with the responsibility to champion the reform of the United Nations Security council aimed at the African Continent to \u00a0have a seat at the United Nation Security Council (UNSC).<\/p>\n

Economic:-<\/b><\/p>\n

Ambassador Jalloh talked briefly on Sierra Leone economic potentials including the mining sector, Iron ore, Bauxite, rutile, diamonds and recently oil discovery.<\/p>\n

The Sierra Leone envoy further \u00a0talked about Education; as Tunisia is known to have highly \u00a0established educational institutions which Sierra Leone could possibly benefit.<\/p>\n

In conclusion, His Excellency Dr. \u00a0Moncef Marzouki\u00a0 expressed his delight in\u00a0 receiving the Sierra Leone envoy \u00a0and further reiterated \u00a0the need to strengthen bilateral relations in the areas of economic and technical cooperation for the benefit of both countries.<\/p>\n

AFRICA DEVELOPMENT BANK (ADB)<\/b><\/p>\n

After the\u00a0 presentation of \u00a0his credentials, Ambassador Jalloh had a meeting \u00a0with the African Development Bank (ADB) President H.E. Donald Kaberuka. During the their meeting they \u00a0discussed development projects such as the (MRU) electricity project for Sierra Leone, Liberia Guinea, Ivory Cost, Health and Agriculture project undertaken by the Aferica Development Bank (ADB) were among other discussed.<\/p>\n
