He\u00a0 advised that, for more successful cleaning exercises, Council must do all they can to indentify group leaders who could further apportion themselves into formidable groups across the city, before cleaning day.<\/p>\n
Samura\u00a0 suggests a \u201cfood-for-work\u201d method to energize the volunteers, like they often take from their pockets to encourage their staff and volunteers in similar national undertakings.<\/p>\n
Nevertheless, bulks of residents say they are ok with last Saturday\u2019s cleaning exercise, regardless some packed garbage in some parts of the city till date, either as a result of the grabbed lorries or otherwise.<\/p>\n
In other words, the deputy Bombali district Chairman for the All Peoples Congress Party, (APC) Pa-Issa Kanu , is reported to have donated some undisclosed garbage trash cans to the Makeni City Council. He, at the same time, hired some youths to tackle some areas like Mabanta, Magburaka and Rogbane Roads respectively. In a telephone interview, the deputy Chairman noted that the gesture did not come by surprise, but rather an obligation to his people and the APC Party he serves. Gesture, donation or offering does not mean, one must have acquired wealth, but instead, the little one can timely give towards nation building, devoid of what the nation can strenuously offer a citizen, the deputy Chairman exhausted, adding: it is each and every citizen\u2019s role to compliment the efforts of Council and the central government instead of embarking on baseless criticisms, bashings and \u201cpull down syndromes\u201d. This is not my stopping point; I will do more as I put things together, since the \u201cAgenda for Prosperity\u201d requires everybody\u2019s meaningful contribution and not destruction, the deputy Chairman maintained.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, a prominent, popular and highly respected Lebanese businessman with a difference, Ahmed Shabban,\u00a0 has assured during last Saturday\u2019s collective monthly general cleaning exercise in the northern city that, it is incumbent on them as businessmen to fully participate in every meaningful spheres of national activity and development, whether directly or indirectly invited.<\/p>\n
Shabban, promised to engage his Lebanese brothers and sisters ahead of next month general cleaning exercise, where he noted, the Lebanese Committee is expected to help with tools and other related needs to further energize the voluntary cleaners whom he acknowledge, are doing a very good job. Shabban is one of the few Lebanese businessmen that partake in whatever developmental event that concerns the state, Community and the Bombali Sebora Chiefdom in particular, a trader, Abdul Turay confirms, describing Shabban as a true Sierra Leonean Lebanese.<\/p>\n
