\u00a0These were the words of the Vice President of\u00a0 Sierra Leone Timber Association, Mr. Abass Janneh. He made this remark during a nationwide tour to five provincial head quarter towns in the country.<\/p>\n
The Vice President, Mr. Janneh, commended the vision of His Excellency, the president, Dr Ernest Bai Koroma in his agenda for prosperity which is aimed at employing the youth of this nation and this is what they as a responsible organization are aimed at.<\/p>\n
According to Mr. Janneh, they are a united organization with a clear focus to ensure that what they have promised the president and the people of this country comes to reality, noting that in their first move they toured the following provincial towns in five districts: Bombali district (2) Koinadugu district (3) Tonkolili district (4) Port Loko district and (5) Kambia district respectively.<\/p>\n
Mr. Janneh used the opportunity to thank the Minister of Agriculture and his entire team including the District Agriculture Officer (DAO) in Bombali district, Mr. Aiah J. Thorlie who they described as a force to reckon with.<\/p>\n
In this welcome address, the DAO and the chairman of the historic memorable event, Mr. Aiah J Thorlie used the opportunity to call on all responsible citizens to actively engage in agriculture in diverse ways through their backyards or any small or large portion of land.<\/p>\n
Mr Aiah J Thorlie commended the Sierra Leone Timber Association for their bold step in ensuring afforestation takes the lead through association. Mr. Aiah J Thorlie, noting that any of the seedlings that have nursed in a village called Macomp in the Bombali district they will ensure this exercise is seen as a watchdog for the entire district.<\/p>\n
He welcomed all citizens within the Bombali district to come to their office in Makeni to collect as many seedlings as they want.<\/p>\n
