{"id":59453,"date":"2013-07-30T03:15:45","date_gmt":"2013-07-30T03:15:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sierraexpressmedia.com\/?p=59453"},"modified":"2013-07-30T03:15:45","modified_gmt":"2013-07-30T03:15:45","slug":"slaj-protests-injustice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sierraexpressmedia.net\/?p=59453","title":{"rendered":"SLAJ protests injustice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Monday 29<sup>th<\/sup> July 2013<\/b> \u2013 Members of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) strongly condemned the unfair treatment and interference in the judiciary in the criminal libel case against Jonathan Leigh, Editor of the Independent Observer Newspaper.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On his first appearance before Magistrate Seray-Wurie of court No. 2, Jonathan Leigh was granted 50 million Leones bail with 2 sureties, who should present their national I.D. Card, driver\u2019s license, or passport.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Deputy Master and Registrar demanded both a conveyance and bank statements showing 50 million Leones as bail conditions to be fulfilled by the sureties.
