target=\"_blank\">JAFAI-Health and Support Services<\/a>, a non-governmental philanthropic organization is seeking to empower women, children and persons with disability in Sierra Leone.\u00a0 The organization recently visited five deprived communities, Susan Bay, Kroobay, Waterloo Refugee Camp, Pademba Road Disabled Center, and the Lightfoot Boston Street of Freetown, to find out about problems, and a way of means to assist them in skills training and education.\u00a0 (<i>Photo<\/i>: <i>Left- Director JAFAI Donald Thompson, middle CEO Mrs Savage)<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the Executive Director of JAFAI, Mrs. Fatima Savage, she noted that the organization has made a tremendous impact in America in assisting deprived people, adding that the organization was established in America with the objective of contributing to the development of her native land by rendering assistance to street children, abused women and the physically challenged.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She also stated that they intend to address the issue of slum communities in the Western Area, and reiterated that that the aim of JAFIA is to transform the lives of deprived and neglected in society. \u00a0She observed that most persons with disabilities are very intelligent and can contribute positively to national development if they are capacitated with the required training. \u00a0She explained that they are trying to integrate a good number of persons with disabilities so that they will be in a position to actively participate in society. \u00a0Mrs. Savage promised that JAFAI will go all out to provide skills training equipment like sewing machines to train the needy and physically challenged , the abused, and women, to enhance income generating activities for the benefit of the country at large.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to JAFAI\u2019s Programme Director, Mr. Donald Thompson, there is need for Sierra Leoneans to embrace the organization and give them the necessary support that can enable them to implement their plans for the good of the country.\u00a0 Mr. Thompson lauded the effort of
