In the same vein, while explaining the rationale for the sensitization meeting, ACC\u2019s District Coordinator, Tonkolili, Mr. Abdulai Saccoh called on staff and students to be willing and committed in the fight against corruption. He noted that for the Agenda for Prosperity to succeed, the fight against corruption should be embraced by all Sierra Leoneans.\u00a0 Saccoh explained that the meeting was part of ACC\u2019s public education approach in fighting corruption, which involves education on the dangers of corruption and how corrupt practices in their operations can impact negatively on the development of the country.\u00a0 He explained the mandate of the Commission and the three main approaches it is using in the fight against corruption.<\/p>\n

ACC\u2019s Public Education Officer, Al-Hassan Sesay explained the various methods of making reports to the Commission and protection for informants.\u00a0 He emphasized the Commission\u2019s core values of confidentiality and entreated staff and students of GTI to resist, reject and report corruption. The Public Education Officer read out the free ACC mobile hotlines and explained to them the benefits of making report, including the 10% reward to informers. He however warned them against making false report which he said, constitutes one of the offences in the Anti-Corruption Act.<\/p>\n
