Home, they say, is sweet, and as such we hear expressions like, \u2018home sweet home\u2019; \u2018there is no place like home\u2019. It is indeed true. This is especially so when the place you call home is going through transformation, through the commitment of her people and leadership. \u00a0(Photo: Mabel John Baimba Sesay<\/em>)<\/p>\n

I left my beloved country Sierra Leone on the 17th<\/sup> February 2011 to join my husband in Beijing, following his appointment by our most ever hardworking President, Dr Ernest Bai Koroma as the Press Attach\u00e9 in our embassy.\u00a0 How fast time runs and how great, even not being at home, but learning of what is happening today in terms of development, through the works of the government.\u00a0 I can\u2019t wait to say, congratulations to us all as a country and especially to our President for doing what he keeps doing.<\/p>\n

Travelling out country is good, especially coming to this part of the world, Asia and particularly China, thousands of miles away from our beautiful country has been one great experience. I have been out of my country for one year and this means a lot, especially as I said earlier, seeing the development back home, but thank God for advanced technology which makes it so easier for people to be connected or be in touch with families, loved ones, friends and even keep you updated with things around the world even though you are not there.<\/p>\n

Sierra Leone is really going forward in terms of infrastructure [good roads], electricity, the fight against corruption, in\u00a0 agriculture and the like of other developments with the help and hard work of our president;\u00a0 Ernest Bai Koroma – the\u00a0 APC party and through the\u00a0 support that the\u00a0 people of Sierra Leone are giving to our government. We have been doing well, I mean\u00a0 doing extremely well these days and I am impressed about the\u00a0 help and support we are giving to the\u00a0 success\u00a0 of\u00a0 the president\u2019s\u00a0 agenda; from the\u00a0 agenda\u00a0\u00a0 for change to the\u00a0 agenda\u00a0 for prosperity. The need to bring sanity and restore law and order cannot have come at the right time. I am so happy for operation WID brought by President in his quest to ensure people are law abiding. Women today have a greater say in government. I read of the appointment of colleague women as Ministers. That is good news. Thank you Mr. President, for thinking of women. So the one year out of my country has meant a lot, and I am impressed with the development in the country. President Koroma has been trying and he needs our support.\u00a0 Sierra Leone is a country we all should love for we have no other one to call home.<\/p>\n
