The Acting Principal of the Centennial Junior Secondary School, Mattru Jong, Bonthe District, and Joseph Daniel Gobio has accused the principal of the Senior School, Abdul Barrie and his in\u2013law Sylvester Baso Pan Goba of conspiring with other board members to deprive him of his position, which he has served for seven years.<\/p>\n
In a recent interview in his office, Mr. Gobio informed this reporter that he has been subjected to series of embarrassment and frustration, most recent being the outright refusal of the board to accept his annual report during this years board meeting and the subsequent decision of the board to advertise a position in which he has acted successfully for seven blessed years.<\/p>\n
\u201cMr. Goba, who is chairman of the board and former Deputy Minister of Tourism and Culture, is supporting his in-law Mr. Barrie to suppress and frustrate me out of the school because I have refused to give them chance to misuse the school fees I collect,\u201d Mr. Gobio levied.<\/p>\n
Mr. Gobio explained that some time ago, Mr. Barrie requested that the senior school be collecting all the fees and that the school should be running a single account controlled by the senior school which he (Mr. Barrie) is heading.<\/p>\n
\u201cI outrightly turned down the request on the grounds that it was against the education policy which categorically states that junior and senior schools should be operating separate accounts,\u201d Gobio further explained, adding that since the day he turned down Mr. Barrie\u2019s illegal request, he has been a victim of constant suppression and harassment.<\/p>\n
\u201cHow can a board decide to advertise a position in which I have acted successfully for seven years?\u00a0 \u201cGobio asked frustratingly. \u201cThat is a direct contravention of the education policy\u201d, he remarked. Beside, he went on; my junior school has always being performing far better that the senior school.<\/p>\n
Mr. Abdul Barrie and Sylvester Goba are yet to respond to Mr. Gobio\u2019s allegations as they could not be contacted.<\/p>\n
