{"id":49998,"date":"2012-11-07T17:50:39","date_gmt":"2012-11-07T17:50:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sierraexpressmedia.net\/?p=49998"},"modified":"2012-11-07T17:50:39","modified_gmt":"2012-11-07T17:50:39","slug":"two-indictments-preferred-on-sierra-leone-commercial-bank-and-kenema-city-council-staff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sierraexpressmedia.net\/?p=49998","title":{"rendered":"Two indictments preferred on Sierra Leone Commercial Bank and Kenema City Council staff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\"><strong>Ivorra Kada<\/strong>, an employee of the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank Limited has been indicted on a twenty-one (21) count charge by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on the 5<sup>th<\/sup> of November 2012.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">The ACC has also indicted five public officers in Kenema on a twenty-eight count charge: <strong>Abubakarr Sidique Turay, <\/strong>the accountant at Kenema City Council (KCC), <strong>Edward Kargbo<\/strong>, the expenditure clerk KCC, <strong>Moses Khroma (alias M.O. Jah),<\/strong> the transport officer KCC, <strong>Lamin Lumeh Mansaray<\/strong> the Regional Librarian of the Sierra Leone Library Board, Kenema <strong>a<\/strong>nd <strong>Matthew Amara Sesay <\/strong>a social worker of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Gender and Children Affairs (MSWGCA) were also indicted by the ACC for corruption related offences.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">The indictment against <strong>Ivorra Kada<\/strong> alleges the misappropriation of Public Funds in excess of <strong>Le 400,000,000 <\/strong>(four hundred million leones) from the Sierra Leone Commercial Bank. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Whilst, <strong>Abubakar Sidique Turay, Edward Kargbo<\/strong>,<strong> Moses Khroma (Alias M.O. Jah)<\/strong>,<strong> Lamin Lumeh Mansaray a<\/strong>nd <strong>Matthew Amara Sesay<\/strong> were indicted on charges relating to the misappropriation of public funds amounting to Le 31,311,500(thirty one million three hundred and eleven thousand five hundred leones and abuse of office.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">In another development, one <strong>Brima Bah<\/strong> a postmaster at the Sierra Leone Postal Service (SALPOST) was on Monday 5<sup>Tth <\/sup>November 2012, convicted on one count of misappropriation of public revenue.
