The victim&#8217;s family moved to Britain in 2006 from Sierra Leone, West Africa, where her father, Raouf, served as a policeman, he told the court in a statement:\u00a0 &#8216;The result of seeing my beautiful, sparkling, bright daughter confined to bed in a vegetative state has left me extremely disheartened.
