MO BANGURA has vowed to prove he is no \u00a32million Celtic flop.<\/strong><\/p>\n The Sierra Leone striker arrived from AIK Stockholm last summer with a glowing reference from Hoops legend Henrik Larsson.<\/p>\n Bangura was hailed as the powerful frontman Neil Lennon craved \u2014 but he endured a nightmare debut season in Paradise.<\/p>\n He failed to net in 15 appearances and missed almost half of the campaign with a knee problem.<\/p>\n Bangura teams up with the Hoops squad this morning after being handed an extended summer break.<\/p>\n And he\u2019s desperate to finally prove himself to the Parkhead faithful.<\/p>\n He told SunSport<\/em>: \u201cI can\u2019t wait to go back to Celtic and start working again.<\/p>\n \u201cI am looking forward to the new season and what it will bring.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel the Celtic fans have still to see the best of me \u2014 they will hopefully see a lot more this year.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel happy and I\u2019m excited about the prospect of playing in the Champions League.\u201d<\/p>\n Lennon is still thought to be in the hunt for a new striker.<\/p>\n He recently failed with a \u00a33m bid for Latvian Artjoms Rudnevs \u2014 but has other options.<\/p>\n However, Bangura has pleaded with his gaffer for an extended run in the team.<\/p>\n He knows he faces a job to shift Gary Hooper, Anthony Stokes and Georgios Samaras from the starting XI.<\/p>\n But Bangura says he WILL<\/strong> bang in the goals \u2014 if Lenny throws him in.<\/p>\n The 22-year-old insisted: \u201cIf I get some playing time, then I can become a big success with Celtic.<\/p>\n \u201cI want to help the team succeed and win more trophies after last season.<\/p>\n \u201cBut, most of all, I want to give the fans some joy.\u201d<\/p>\n The Sierra Leone cap admits he went through some dark times last term.<\/p>\n As a young man alone in a foreign country, it proved a testing period.<\/p>\n But he insists he feels better than ever after a good break. And he hopes the start of a new season will signal better times ahead.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cLast season was very frustrating for me, especially as it was my first at the club.<\/p>\n \u201cBut this is life \u2014 you never know what you will have to face. This is a new season and there are fresh challenges.<\/p>\n \u201cI enjoyed my break during the summer. I played for the national team and then spent time with family and friends.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s always good to be home having fun. I am feeling good now.\u201d<\/p>\n Bangura was able to make one appearance before the end of last season after a three-month absence.<\/p>\n That 90-minute outing against St Johnstone mattered little in the grand scheme of things.<\/p>\n But, for Bangura, it signified the end of a hellish chapter in his career.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cI felt a big sigh of relief when I recovered from my injury.<\/p>\n \u201cI am now fit and I want to make a fresh start.\u201d<\/p>\n Bangura spent the bulk of the summer in his homeland and was shocked to learn of Rangers\u2019 liquidation.<\/p>\n He said: \u201cI followed the Rangers problems a bit over the summer.
