{"id":40682,"date":"2012-05-15T06:00:14","date_gmt":"2012-05-15T06:00:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sierraexpressmedia.com\/?p=40682"},"modified":"2012-05-15T06:00:14","modified_gmt":"2012-05-15T06:00:14","slug":"isha-johansen-in-race-to-be-sierra-leone-fa-president","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sierraexpressmedia.net\/?p=40682","title":{"rendered":"Isha Johansen in race to be Sierra Leone FA president"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Isha Johansen says Sierra Leone football is in &#8220;a terrible state&#8221; and is determined to be the next president of the country&#8217;s football association to make the necessary changes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The 47-year old has already founded her own Sierra Leone Premier League club, FC Johansen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She is also well known for her work with youth football in Sierra Leone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She is the first candidate to officially declare her intention to run for president in July&#8217;s SLFA elections.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Johansen says she has taken her inspiration from the current president of the Burundi Football Federation, Lydia Nsekera, and Izetta Wesley &#8211; the former head of the Liberian FA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Nsekera is doing a good job in Burundi and I&#8217;m following her footsteps. I&#8217;m planning to contact her and Wesley to learn from them,&#8221; Johansen told BBC Sport.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She believes that she is in the best position to bring about a change in Sierra Leone football.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;The SLFA is in a terrible state and I want to make a change,&#8221; she declared.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI&#8217;ve exposed talents and also helped in the re-branding of Sierra Leone in the world\u201d &#8211; Isha Johansen<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;I believe I&#8217;m in the best position to bring about the change.
