Airtel, a leading telecommunication network company in Sierra Leone has donated a free 116 toll line to the Don Bosco Fambul establishment on Friday March 9, over the weekend. \u00a0The donation ceremony took place at the Don Bosco\u2019s Forte Street offices in Freetown.<\/p>\n
Speaking during the ceremony, Don Bosco\u2019s Head Boy, Alhaji Sanoh expressed gratitude to Airtel for the kind gesture, which he said would take them a distance in their partnership.<\/p>\n
The Deputy Director of Don Bosco, Samuel Bo-John said Airtel\u2019s provision of the said toll line would boost their thirteen years of existence in the country in a big way. He appreciated the presence of the Minister of Social Welfare in the ceremony who he said was visiting for the first time in the history of their establishment. He concluded by saying, Don Bosco is a citadel of children\u2019s protection in the country.<\/p>\n
Francis Kamara, a social worker at the Don Bosco home said the agency has been helping street children and unemployed youths in the country in various ways in terms of giving care and counseling. Mr Kamara said, the free toll line would help the centre greatly to be able to coordinate social workers\u2019 role on contact in time, adding that Airtel has aided them in this gesture greatly to now have their coordination calls across the various networks in the country.<\/p>\n
The Director of Don Bosco, Lathar Wagner expressed gratitude to the Airtel family for donating to them such magnificent quality free toll lines. He said the Don Bosco Fambul is now made to go red hot with emergency hotline for its advisory services to the public.<\/p>\n
Airtel\u2019s Marketing Manager, Rufina Adjivon Tucker said Airtel has a simple vision, which is \u2018to be the loveliest brand in Sierra Leone, Africa and the world\u2019. She said it is part of Airtel\u2019s Corporate Social Responsibilities to develop the children of Sierra Leone, because in it is a sense that you are as well developing the country.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis gift is not the first Airtel has offered as a few months ago, we offered a free toll line to the Aberdeen Women\u2019s Centre in Freetown\u201d, she states. Children, she said are the focal point of our corporate social responsibilities, she stated.<\/p>\n
Adding that, Airtel is appreciative of the fact that Don Bosco gave them the opportunity to offer the 116 free toll line. Rufina concluded by praying for the union between Don Bosco and Airtel to forge ahead.<\/p>\n
Moreover, the Minister of Social Welfare Gender and Children Affairs Steven N\u2019Gugah said he felt elated for being ushered the praises for being the first Minister to have visited the Don Bosco establishment.<\/p>\n
