As post war Sierra Leone grapples to attain Millennium Development Goals 4 and 5 by 2015, an apolitical, philanthropic and patriotic foreign based organization, Sierra Leone Arc of Hope (SLAH) has initiated the construction of a children\u2019s Hospital for residents of Koya Rural District.<\/p>\n
To the organization, it is aimed at complementing laudable strides of President Ernest Bai Koroma\u2019s agenda for change doctrine.<\/p>\n
The commencement of the construction of the proposed children\u2019s hospital brings to birth the turning-of-sod at a 10.6 Acres land in the Koya Chiefdom.<\/p>\n
Ms Nanette Thomas, Secretary of SLAH said her organization has respect for the law and peaceful coexistence and has fulfilled all legal requirements in the acquisition of the land in Koya.<\/p>\n
\u201cKoya Rural District is a strategic location.\u00a0 It is hoped that the hospital will provide jobs and other socioeconomic contributions nationally,\u201d said Ms Thomas.<\/p>\n
She called on the membership of SLAH and its valued partners to remain committed to the vision of Sierra Leone Arc of Hope.<\/p>\n
She however pleaded with persons making pledges to go by undertakings they had made during the official launching of the organization in America and Sierra Leone respectively.<\/p>\n
Responding, Chief Pa Kombrabai, a community representative commended the management of SLAH and assured them of his community\u2019s unreserved collaboration in the enhancement of the project.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe timely intervention of SLAH in the unfailing provision of a hospital for people of Koya must be emulated by similar organizations,\u201d Chief Pa Kombrabai said.<\/p>\n
One of Koya\u2019s Councillors, Thaimu Kanu, said he is impressed with the commitment of SLAH.<\/p>\n
He advised his constituents to desist from pessimism caused by former organizations.<\/p>\n
