Residents of Tongo Town in the lower Bambara Chiefdom are reportedly in disagreement over Le 200 million presented to management of Gem Stars football club.<\/p>\n
Just recently, management of Koidu Holdings understandably reached to the rescue of Gem Stars football club thus making a donation of Le 200 million to enhance the running of the club.<\/p>\n
Findings have it that there is serious battle among club officials which, according to some community members, may possibly hamper the club\u2019s progress.<\/p>\n
It could be recalled that Gem Stars football club is owned by the Tongo Field community.<\/p>\n
Findings articulate that a Member of Parliament presenting constituency 17, Francis Konuwa, who has longed relinquish his position as chairman of the club, has made a come back nay intimidating honest members, who on countless occasions have had the time to patch up with the team.<\/p>\n
Sources say that the team was demoted from the premier league to first division owing to financial support.<\/p>\n
That Honourable Francis Konuwa who was chairman unreasonably declined his position and as a result saw a breakdown in the management of the affairs of the club.<\/p>\n
It is a fact that Hon. Francis Konuwa did take an interview with Cotton Tree news, where he publicly made a pronouncement that he has given up his position as chairman of Gem Stars football club.<\/p>\n
The relegation of Gem Stars from the premier league, it is disclosed, was as a result of the team\u2019s failure to honour seven matches.<\/p>\n
According to residents of Tongo Field, it is regrettably revealed that the return of Honourable Francis Konuwa as chairman seemed a ploy to fleece the team of its Le200 Million support by Koidu Holdings.<\/p>\n
It has reached this press that hard working executive members including elders of Tongo Town have promised to make a quit should persons keep on marginalize them.<\/p>\n
In an interview, Zamal Zayat said he has spent his time, finance and energy to up keep Gem Stars.<\/p>\n
He furthered that himself and few others have made sacrifices on the club without receiving support from anywhere.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow that Koidu holdings has come to the rescue of the team, the likes of Hon Francis Konuwa and cohorts have hurriedly re-occupied positions they had abandoned and have been making efforts to dethrone some of us,\u201d Zamal said.<\/p>\n
