As Sierra Leoneans converged at the country\u2019s National Stadium in celebration of Sierra Leone\u2019s 50th independence anniversary this past Wednesday, 27th<\/sup> April, erstwhile Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Haja Afsatu Kabba appeared conspicuously agile as she celebrated with tens of thousands.<\/p>\n

The occasion which marked the ticking of Sierra Leone among countries that have celebrated 50 years of independence also evoked the presence of respective heads of states from many countries in Africa.<\/p>\n

Sierra Leoneans, in their numbers, queued in the streets leading to the national stadium joining respective foreign nationals to celebrate, jubilate and accord Sierra Leone for clocking 50.<\/p>\n

Afsatu Kabba, our reporter disclosed, was identified amongst thousands of spectators gathered at the stadium in solidarity of Sierra Leone at 50.<\/p>\n

Afsatu\u2019s demonstration of what is called \u2018real time patriotism\u2019 seemed to attract foreign as well as local dignitaries present at the National Stadium.<\/p>\n

Though reluctant, but smiling joyously, she told this press that the government\u2019s celebration of Sierra Leone\u2019s 50th<\/sup> independence signals an unconditional call for hard work, honesty, love, development and most of all, unity.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I may recite President Koroma\u2019s congratulatory message to Sierra Leoneans,\u201d she said, \u201cit reads thus, \u2018congratulations to all Sierra Leoneans on our country\u2019s fiftieth independence anniversary. May the patriotism, unity and dedication we have shown during this great moment always abide with us as we move fifty years forward with the new Sierra Leone.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

She furthered that she grudged no hatred and detestation for anyone including the unborn. That with unity, love and oneness it is sure Sierra Leone has a place in the next 50 years.<\/p>\n

It could be recalled that it was during periods of Afsatu Kabba\u2019s tenancy as Minister of Energy and Power that Sierra Leone witnessed the supply of power through the use of Bumbuna hydro power; APC\u2019s greatest achievement.<\/p>\n

She is also the first to have generated Le11 billion for government while acting as the Minister of Fisheries and Marine resources.<\/p>\n

In spite of the fact that Afsatu Kabba was taken to the wells of the high courts to answer for believable corruption indictments, it is of the conviction of the electorates that the likes of Afsatu Kabba makes better in the swift and unrestraint development of Sierra Leone in the years to come.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo matter what they may say, Afsatu is much better than hundreds of those who now occupy public office, but are underperformers,\u201d Mabinty a resident of Bai Bureh Road said.<\/p>\n

It has reached this press that a good number of Sierra Leoneans consider Afsatu Kabba as a performer and want her given the opportunity to contribute to society.<\/p>\n

A group Sierra Leonean celebrants were caught at around stand 6 at the National Stadium who told our reporter that the attendance of Afsatu Kabba to camaraderie Mama Salone, to them, is an indication that she has Sierra Leone and the ruling APC government at heart.<\/p>\n
