Police sources say it was unfair of the Inspector General to release a promotional list that bears names of unripe and unqualified officers.<\/p>\n
It could be recalled that prior to the release of the promotional memorandum, there had been serialized postponements owing to objections from both the politicians and police officers themselves.<\/p>\n
It has reached the table of this press that some of whom are promoted paid thousands of US dollars to the police IG Francis Munu.<\/p>\n
Specifically, senior officers who now serve as United Nations peacekeepers in Darfur\/Sudan have had field days lavishing bribes to officers assigned to the committee that deals with promotion in the Sierra Leone Police (SLP).<\/p>\n

Another office who virtually confronted this press for a talk said: \u201chow for goodness sake an overqualified senior police officer could be refused promotion for incompetent police officers who have bribed their way,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Investigation conducted revealed there is big split within the chain of command in the police.<\/p>\n
It is disclosed that the current police head, IG Francis Munu seemed dictatorial in the conduct of his duty.<\/p>\n
