Sometimes one wants to stay put and keep quiet, thinking that with time people will change or accept positive changes. \u00a0It is true that only fools and gods don’t change but wise and patriotic people should change.\u00a0 Having lived for over half a century thanks to God, I have been observing many of my country folks that do not want a change. \u00a0It is therefore a burden for some of us that want a change to sit by and pay lip service while stomaching the truth without breathing it out.<\/p>\n
Perhaps it would get some of the people the awareness of what is happening and get educated and give us a chance and accept change for the better of all Sierra Leoneans. \u00a0What we should also note is that not all changes come overnight. \u00a0The brain power is different and critical thinking differs. \u00a0I am not a critique, however, with the little experience I have learnt, it is prudent to criticize objectively or constructively where criticism is required and equally true to give praise where praise is due and allowed to be criticized as well.<\/p>\n
Having lived in three continents it is my experience also to note that in all those foreign countries there is a unifying force of loyalty suffices to say that LOYALTY is the kinship or should be primmest to one’s citizenry. \u00a0Let us reflect as Sierra Leoneans deeply into our hearts religiously or otherwise let us ask ourselves these pertinent question before Sierra Leone turns 50 years.\u00a0 Are we really free? What have we done for self or what have we done for Sierra Leone?\u00a0 Do we contribute towards the progress of the country or have contributed to its doom?\u00a0\u00a0 Many of us who have the chance of traveling abroad have realized the saying that “All around the world there is no place like home,” it is therefore important to note that while we brace ourselves to do any finger pointing, we should be honest in examining our conscience in order to celebrate a wonderful birthday of our country\u2019s 50th<\/sup> independence anniversary.<\/p>\n Another point of reference is negativity and lack of love for our country.\u00a0 Our young generation need peace and positivity, let\u2019s turn a fresh page in our dealings because the world is revolving on its axis, and let\u2019s revolve positively with peace and love. What lessons do we need to give? Let’s help our leaders to spend less energy on negatives and give them a peace of mind in thinking for the enhancement and the development of our country. \u00a0Presently we need to brainstorm how we should get our youths to be educated in a positive direction that would enhance the progress of our country.<\/p>\n Sierra Leone in the coming century should be an exporting country for organic agricultural products, exporting clean water and an industrial car exporting country with our iron ore deposits. The best tropical tourist country to visit and the best medical center in the region.\u00a0 Until we change our attitude and follow the footsteps of Dr Ernest Koroma, we are a long way in realizing these dreams.\u00a0 We pray that after him come 2017 we will not have to hire some prospective leader from the moon.
