Dallas, Texas, U.S.A: December 20.\u00a0 Ambition, persistence, and energy are three of the most important traits that Alie Patrick Koroma has invested to accomplish his academic goal.\u00a0\u00a0 It is truly an honor for the son of Pa Koroma and Janet, to have been the first and foremost Sierra Leonean who cares deeply to be part of the scientific societies in the United States.\u00a0 Despite his great commitment in so many community activities in the metropolitan city of Dallas Fort-Worth, Dr. Alie P. koroma was smart to determine the amount of time he needed for his studies in order to complete his program of studies.<\/p>\n

December 16th<\/sup> marked as another day in Texas when friends, relatives, and family members were craning their necks on front stage watching Alie Patrick Korma, a valuable son of the soil, Sierra Leone, receiving the biggest academic award of PhD, major in Biology, in the college of science at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA).\u00a0 People who witnessed the occasion gave a thunderous applause during the degrees award roll calling, when; Dr. Koroma\u2019s name was called to receive the respectful degree of, \u201cDoctor of Philosophy in Quantitative biology\u201d.<\/p>\n

Dr. Alie Koroma was the first Sierra Leonean to receive a PhD in Biology at that University, and the only African who received that honor on that day. His hard work and dedication has brought him not only a degree but recognition for community service, and as someone that has an exceptional achievement leadership, and social innovation.\u00a0 Dr. Koroma is immersed in a sense of adventure, and exploration to make history, and that achievement is worth headline news as an inspiration to the young generation of our country.<\/p>\n

Alie Koroma is highly respectful in our community not only because of his personality, but for his comfortable simplicity and flexibility, combined with personal touch makes him a hero in Texas.\u00a0 It is an indisputable fact that many other Sierra Leoneans have achieved as much as Dr Alie Koroma have done, but Dr. Koroma\u2019s success was very versed in his contemporary fashion of specialty for his degree in Quantitative Biology.<\/p>\n

Dr. Koroma\u2019s success is an example of a key to motivate many of us to encourage our children by expressing hope in the believing that they can succeed in school and in life by valuing and challenging other people\u2019s accomplishments.\u00a0 Such story, one man said, is an inspiring motivation to our children in abroad and back home because it will create hopeful attitude by following a person like Dr. Alie Patrick Koroma.<\/p>\n

Two other Sierra Leoneans, Lovette Jasabe and Theresa Jalloh, also graduated and have received the degrees of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) on that same day. It was indeed a source of pride to us. Sierra Leoneans admire these academic achievements more so when it was scored in one of the top universities in the United States.<\/p>\n
