{"id":16851,"date":"2010-11-28T10:15:49","date_gmt":"2010-11-28T15:15:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sierraexpressmedia.com\/?p=16851"},"modified":"2010-11-28T10:15:49","modified_gmt":"2010-11-28T15:15:49","slug":"rwanda-u-17-host-faces-senegal-egypt-burkina-faso","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sierraexpressmedia.net\/?p=16851","title":{"rendered":"Rwanda U-17&#8230;host faces Senegal, Egypt &#038;Burkina Faso"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Next year U-17 championship qualifying teams know their opponent after it was revealed following a draw at the Lake Kivu Serena Hotel in Gisenyi, Rwanda.\u00a0 <em>(Photo:\u00a0 Gambia team)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The grouping of the African youth tournament U-17 was witnessed by officials from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Minister of Sport, Culture and the Football Federation (FERWAFA) who graced the occasion.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The eight teams were divided into two groups of four teams each to battle for honours at the ninth edition of the biennial championships.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hosts Rwanda was housed in Group A alongside <strong>Burkina  Faso<\/strong><strong>, Senegal and Egypt <\/strong>whilst reigning champions, <strong>Gambia<\/strong><strong>, Congo, Cote d\u2019Ivoire and Mali<\/strong> are in Group B.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The four teams in each group will engage each other on a round-robin basis with the group winners and runners-up advancing to the semi finals with the eventual winners progressing to the final.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The tournament will be staged from 8-22 January, 2011 and matches will be played at the <strong>Amahoro National Stadium<\/strong>, <strong>Umuganda Stadium<\/strong> and Stade de Kigali.
