At a work shop held at the United Polio Brothers and Sisters Hall Kissy, disabled have called for the omission of section 2 (2) of the soon to be enacted Disability Bill.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the workshop, Programme Officer FDID, Abib Kamara, noted that disability affects hundreds of million of families in the world including Sierra Leone.<\/p>\n
He further said that 10% of the worlds\u2019 population or roughly 650 million people living with disabilities in most countries makes up the world\u2019s largest minority group.<\/p>\n
In Sierra Leone, 10% of the country\u2019s population are disabled persons and therefore, face gross human right abuses and discriminations at their respective communities.<\/p>\n
It was revealed however that the Association\u2019s intension is to put up a multi purposed building so as to enable them expand on skilled training businesses.<\/p>\n
Mr.Q Gerber and Lloyd Jusu, both legal Officers for Foundation for Democratic Initiatives, schooled participants on United Nation\u2019s Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n
