In an exclusive interview with the public relations officer of London Mining Company, Josephine Saidu intimated to this medium that the company is about to land a processing plant in Sierra Leone in the not too distant future as the construction of the plant is near completion in the Peoples Republic of China as all necessary payment has been made to the said factory base in China.<\/p>\n

Responding on the current status of the Marampa Mine the PRO London Mining noted that the administrative blocks that comprise of the senior and intermediate staff quarters have been almost completed. She noted further that the old structures of the days of Delco will be modernized in order for the historical significant of Delco be maintained as all dilapidated buildings will be reconstructed along side the 18.5 kilometer jetty site that will start from Mammy Nancy to Thowofayia as contractors had assured them that they will meet the agreed date come August for both the staff quarters and the jetty.<\/p>\n

For a start. the remains of Delco called the tailing will be mined and the primary ore drilling program for resource evaluation, Josephine noted. As not too many economic benefits have been realized by the country from some mining companies London Mining, who is expected to be the in the top two companies in Sierra Leone\u00a0 by annual revenue within two years, has promised the nation rapid transformation in local and national economic development, significant employment, development of local businesses as a subcontractors and secondary development, royalty and tax revenue to government, contributing to all categories of taxes, improving balance of payment for government through foreign exchange earning and demonstrating internationally that Sierra Leone is a fertile place for international investment, and providing opportunity for credible companies to contribute and prosper.<\/p>\n

It was also revealed by the PRO London Mining that they are still maintaining their set target of 12 to 18 months for phase one production.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the company\u2019s corporate social responsibilities, Josephine noted that $4,000 has been doled out for the construction of public toilets in Port Loko as a whole, libraries, recreational facilities for the youth in Lunsar, 250 scholarships for both primary and secondary schools, construction of a drug store at the 34 military hospital, capacity building at Port Loko District Council, assistance for the construction of Mesethleh Primary School Lunsar and much more.<\/p>\n
